Chimney Motor Repair and Motor Replacement
The motor decides whether your chimney actually pulls smoke, and two very differently priced jobs sit under this heading.
Motor repair corrects faults on the existing motor — bearing noise, a seized shaft, or a motor running slow under load. Motor replacement is fitting a new motor, which is the honest answer when the winding has burnt out, when the motor has already been repaired once, or when the unit is too old for a repair to last. The motor is quoted by chimney model before fitting.
We do not offer motor cleaning. Grease on a motor housing is handled inside a deep cleaning, not sold as a motor job.
Chimney PCB Repair and Control Board Replacement
The PCB is the control board behind the panel. When it fails the chimney goes dead, the panel stops responding, speeds stop changing, or the light and auto-clean circuits die while the motor still runs.
The board is tested at your home — supply reaching it, output to the motor and light circuits, relay operation, track and harness condition. Some faults are repairable at component level; others need a replacement board, quoted by model before fitting. A dead panel is not always the PCB — that is what the diagnosis is for.
Chimney Capacitor Replacement
A weak capacitor is one of the most common chimney faults and one of the cheapest to correct. The classic sign is a motor that hums without turning, or a chimney that starts only if you nudge the blower.
The capacitor is tested for its actual value under load, not just inspected, and replaced at the correct rating for the motor. A wrong rating shortens motor life, so the part is matched to the model.
Chimney Switch and Control Repair
Push-button, rotary and touch controls wear out from use and from grease working into the panel. A speed that no longer engages, a button needing three presses, or a control that has stopped responding are all switch symptoms.
Switch and control faults are always checked before a PCB replacement is proposed — a switch produces the same symptom at a fraction of the cost.
Auto-Clean Chimney Repair
An auto-clean chimney heats a collector surface so condensed oil drains into a removable cup. When it stops working the cause is usually the heating element, the relay or timer circuit driving it, or the control that starts the cycle.

We sell chimneys as well as repairing them — so we have no reason to push you into a repair that will not last, and none to push you into a chimney you do not need. If your unit is eight to ten years old and needs a motor or a board, the repair can cost a large share of a new chimney and still leave you an ageing machine. A recent unit with one failed component is worth repairing.
